Turns out Amalfi didn’t happen due to ballsey weather. I mean, sure, it rained relentlessly yesterday, but today it wasn’t half bad! Oh well.
Yesterday I didn’t go to school, woke up, had lunch, messed around in the afternoon, and then at night I went out with all my favorite homies, Roberta, Manuel, Denise, Simone, Carmelo and Vincenzo. Despite the ridiculous rain and wind, we met up in the piazza, where Roberta had a bit of a figura di merda, involving her falling over and me screaming. Good thing no one saw us! She’s adorable, but she was WAY to paranoid about the fact that someone might have seen her. Like, worth dying over if someone had seen her. I was like, okay, you fell, not THAT big of a deal. Anyway, she’s a sweetie pie.
We had dinner at the eighth dwarf, like always. It was yummy, like always. Afterwards we ran around in the rain, Denise was drunk, we listened to music and ran around in the piazza. Later, we got gelato and walked around a bit more, and ended the night downstairs at Roberta’s doing a whole lot of nothing. I was outside talking with Mr. Boom the whole time.
Today, I woke up to full on VIOLENT buzzing from the downstairs buzzer, signifying “ALEX GET YOUR ASS UP” from Rita. Effing bitch! I was so angry. She literally buzzed that buzzed 1 million and a half times, with these ridiculously long, loud buzzes. Aaanyway, I came downstairs immediately, and then waited around 20 more minutes until everyone was ready for lunch. I was like, wow, you could’ve at least let me brush my teeth, but whatever.
After lunch, I went upstairs and looked for at least an hour for my pencil sharpener. Never found the damn thing… Afterwards, I did my eyebrows, painted my nails, took a fantastically long and yummy smelling shower. Currently all of my bathroom products are citrusy, so I came downstairs afterwards smelling like an orange blossom and everyone came and smelled me and touched me. Yummm. Then later Aldo went upstairs and apparently my entire appartment smells citrusy and delicious.
OH! I forgot! Today Rita taught me how to cook le barchette di zucchine. You hollow out the shells of zucchine, and fill them with this delicious mixture of a bunch of totally mushy mashed potatoes mixed with parmigiano, 2 eggs, some milk, some butter and salt. Then we added cooked bits of mushrooms, but sometimes she also adds little chunks of cooked pancetta and mozzarella or cooked bits of artichokes. First you prepare the whole inside mix, then hollow out the zucchine shells and soak them in salt water, then fill them with the mix, then lay them all in a ceramic dish with oil in the bottom, then put oil and breadcrumbs on top, and a little water in the bottom to cook the raw zucchine. Then you bake it! gnam gnam gnam, Anyway, I learned that today, and they’re Roberta’s favorite. Also, one of Eugenio’s friends made a Pastiera Napoletana, which happens to be the single most delicious thing in the universe. It’s a type of cake they make at Easter and it’s typical of Napoli, with bits of grain in it and it tastes like oranges.
Tomorrow Roberta and I aren’t going to school because she’s not prepared for physics, so I’ll stay home. Either I’ll practice pack all of my bags and see how much of my stuff I can fit into them for coming home, or I’ll just go straight to organizing which stuff I can put into a box to bring to the post office, or I’ll organize and throw out stuff tomorrow, or i’ll study, or I’ll just screw it all and sleep in the morning. I better decide! But I don’t reckon I’ll study because I don’t have my pencil sharpener. Haha. Therefore, I think I’ll organize all my stuff in the morning. Yeeee! Only one month left! >_<
